Today, Nintendo officially revealed the final characters making their way into the base roster of the Switch's highly anticipated fighting game, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, by confirming the addition of Pokemon's Incineroar and Street Fighter's Ken. The Big N also used the its latest Nintendo Direct for the title to confirm a Season Pass, and that it will add new characters later on down the line.

According to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's director Masahiro Sakurai, the fighting game will have five separate sets of DLC, and each one will include a character, a stage, and a music track, with each pack costing $6 apiece. Nintendo will also be offering a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass for those who want to ensure they get every bit of content coming to the title, and it will include all of the DLC for $25. Sakurai explained that the add-on contents' schedule has been mapped out, as every piece of content will be released by February of 2020.

What's more is that those who purchase Super Smash Bros. Ultimate between November 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019, Nintendo will give them Piranha Plant as a bonus full character at no additional charge. This will definitely act as a solid incentive to get fans to pre-order the new fighting game and buy it around launch time. After all, seeing Piranha Plant turn into Petey Piranha for its Final Smash should prove to be a delight to one and all. Plus, it's safe to presume everyone will want to secure the complete roster

As of now, it's anyone's guess when it comes to the identities of the characters coming in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Fighters Pass, but there's no doubt that the Internet will shout its collective vote for Waluigi. And although today's Nintendo Direct mostly debunked the latest leak regarding the game's roster, there's always a chance that figures such as Banzo-Kazooie and Geno could make their way into the title post-launch.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is set to launch on December 7, 2018 for Nintendo Switch.
