A new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate mod that adds the famous streaming star Ninja as a fighter has just gone viral via Twitter.

Ever since the release of the widely popular mod Project M for Super Smash Bros. Brawl on the Nintendo Wii, modding has been incredibly popular for the Super Smash Bros. series. The newest installment for the Nintendo Switch has been no different, with mods continuing to pop up for the game very regularly. But most recently, a mod that depicts the famous streamer Ninja has popped up.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Ninja mod is a skin of the Metal Gear Solid character Snake, and looks a lot like Ninja's Fortnite character avatar. The mod was created by CashClay and released on the popular modding community Game Banana. Though Ninja plays identically to  Snake, his voice clips are taken straight from Ninja himself, with him even shouting "what am I doing?" humorously when performing his final smash attack.

Since release, the mod has found plenty of traction with even Ninja himself finding it and retweeting the Twitter post. Many fans on Twitter have joined in on the joke, stating that Ninja is now their new Smash main.

Richard Tyler Blevins, better known in the gaming community as Ninja, got started in competitive gaming back in 2009 where he largely played Halo 3. He later moved on to playing titles H1Z1, Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, and Fortnite Battle Royale. He became the most viewed Twitch streamer of 2018, with his following currently sitting at over 2 million followers. He later switched over to Microsoft's Mixer platform and YouTube, with his YouTube following now sitting at over 23 million subscribers.

For those who wish to play as Ninja in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, visit Game Banana for installation instructions. There are plenty of other awesome Super Smash Bros. mods, but mod at your own risk. Nintendo has gone on the record stating its distaste for modding on their home consoles and handheld systems, and have even banned modders on past Nintendo systems as well. Players in the past have been banned as a result of playing with mods.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
