With many people still under some form of lockdown and stuck within their homes, sometimes its fun to ponder the "what ifs." For the artistically gifted out there, they are putting those ponderings online for some incredible fantasy casting.

The artist Jackson Caspersz from Australia has taken to a new project that is already something to behold with the first piece. Caspersz created a portrait of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Mario, portrayed by Joe Manganiello.

Caspersz said in the post that it's the "first character concept" for what his to be his latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate project. He ends his post by asking for suggestions meaning that likely every character will be portrayed by a famous actor. This of course means that its time for casting who can take the role of each of the fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's massive cast. It may lead to a case similar to Henry Cavill getting the role of Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher series after making it clear he wanted the role.

It wouldn't be Manganiello's first foray in the video game world. A strikingly similar version of his take on Deathstroke from the 2017 Justice League film made its way to Fortnite in 2019. Manganiello is best known for his acting roles in numerous projects but recently the actor has found a new following for his Dungeons & Dragons misadventures. Manganiello has recently been hosting a D&D session involving a wrestler, a famous guitarist, and a creator from Game of Thrones.

As for the artwork itself, Caspersz would not be the first artist to tackle a new spin on the Smash Bros cast.  Artist Raf Grassetti of Sony Santa Monica, the developer of the God of War series, has been working on a realistic Smash Bros project. His most recent character was his interpretation of Starfox's Fox McCloud.

Joe Manganiello has yet to comment on the artwork but he is usually active in talking to fans. Hopefully it gives him some ideas for his next big role.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now on Nintendo Switch.
