The Metroid franchise is well-represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, with Ridley finally added to the roster, along with Samus, Zero Suit Samus, and of course, Dark Samus. Dark Samus in particular has proven to be one of the more popular characters on the roster, and fans may be wondering how exactly they can unlock her.

Just like every other character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there are multiple ways to unlock Dark Samus in the game. Players can encounter Dark Samus by just playing rounds of Vs mode, and she will eventually pop up as a challenger. Alternatively, players can unlock Dark Samus by playing through the World of Light story mode.

Regardless of if players attempt to unlock Dark Samus in World of Light or through the Vs mode method, they should expect to spend a great deal of time in their quest to unlock her. Luckily, there is one slightly faster method to help players unlock Dark Samus as quickly as possible.

The fastest way to unlock Dark Samus in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is by beating Classic Mode with Incineroar. Of course, first players will have to unlock Incineroar, though that's not too difficult. Players will first need to beat Classic with Samus, then Inkling, Wii Fit Trainer, and Pit, and Incineroar should appear as a challenger after finishing up with Pit. If players manage to unlock Pit some other way beforehand, they can skip going through Classic with the other characters.

With Incineroar unlocked, players just need to beat Classic one more time for a chance to go head-to-head with Dark Samus. If they happen to fail in their attempt to unlock her, they will eventually get a rematch through the Challenger's Approach icon found in the Games & More section of the game.

It's possible that there are other methods to unlock Dark Samus. In fact, reports have indicated that it can be done by completing a two-player Classic Mode with Samus, but we were unable to replicate that method. As fans continue to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the exact method to unlocking characters in the game should become clearer.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
