Another in-game event has been announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Fire Emblem Fest will be a two-part event that will be themed after the popular tactical RPG, and is scheduled to kick off on December 20th.

It looks like Nintendo is making good on its promise to regularly bring weekly events to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and this marks the second event that game has seen since its launch earlier this month. Players will have three days to participate in the first half of Fire Emblem Fest, the same amount of time allotted for last week's Spectacled Spirits event, which featured characters who wear glasses. This time around, however, it's characters from the Fire Emblem series that will appear more often on the Spirit Board.

This is the perfect opportunity to hunt for rare Spirits. Players might even come across Legend-class Spirits, such as Azura and Caeda. Those looking to bolster their collection should attempt to seek out these special characters while they can, as some of them will change in the second part of the event. Additionally, beating these Spirits will net players extra SP.

If Spirits are still an unfamiliar aspect of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for you, be sure to check out our comprehensive guide on Spirits. We break down what Spirits are and how they are used in-game, as well as how to unlock and accumulate more. While they don't play a very large role in regular matches or online, they are crucial for navigating of the World of Light mode and Spirit Board. There are more than a thousand to collect, so it's best to take advantage of these limited-time events to snag the rare ones.

While Spirits certainly add another dimension to the gameplay, collecting and using them may not be for everyone. If simply battling it out and acquiring new fighters is more your style, we know some tricks for expediting that process and unlocking all the characters quickly. Thankfully, there's more than one way to build the roster.
