Unsurprisingly, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brings back the Final Smash feature first introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, with every single character on the massive roster having their own Final Smash to use. However, it may not be immediately apparent to some Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players how to use Final Smash, especially since some characters require different placement and the like to pull off their attack.

First and foremost, to get Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there are a couple of different methods. In some match types, players will automatically get Final Smash at some point in the battle, but most of the time they have to destroy the rainbow-colored Smash ball that will appear on the screen. Something to keep in mind is that there are also Fake Smash Balls in the game as well, which can be determined by the Super Smash Bros. logo on it being lopsided.

Once players have Final Smash, they simply need to find an opponent and press the Special Attack button (usually the B button, depending on the controller used) without pushing the analog stick in any direction. If this attack is done properly and connects, then the Final Smash should activate.

As previously stated, there are some characters whose Final Smash requires them to be closer to enemies or farther away. For example, Donkey Kong's Final Smash requires players to be pretty close to the opponent they're using it on, whereas Link's Final Smash is a ranged attack. We recommend players familiarize themselves with their main characters' Final Smashes, as pulling them off could be the difference between victory and defeat in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's various game modes.

The video above shows every character's Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and should be a pretty helpful resource for anyone trying to pull off a Final Smash in the ambitious crossover fighting game. Once players have it down, they should have no problem using the Final Smash attack in online matches and against friends on the couch.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
