Of the many AAA fighting games currently in circulation, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is regarded by many as one of the most popular. With an extensive roster of characters with multifaceted fighting styles, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gives players a significant degree of selection. So much so, that some players have started to forget that some characters are even playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Compared to the jaw-dropping eighty-nine playable characters the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster boasts, it's almost hard to believe that the original Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64 had only twelve playable characters. Now, with so many characters to choose from, it can be hard for some players to remember certain playable characters, given the lack of people playing as them.

A Reddit user named RelanTheGuy posted that they had completely forgotten that Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy was in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Many subsequent users replied saying that they had forgotten characters like the Duck Hunt dog, Pac-Man, Ryu from Street Fighter, and even recent DLC characters like Steve from Minecraft are playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In a way, it makes sense for some players to forget about particular characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Considering that most players tend to main certain characters rather than others, playing consistently as only a handful of characters could potentially lead to forgetting that some characters are in the game. Many Reddit users also forgot that Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates was in the game as well.

A lot of hyped up Super Smash Bros. characters tend to be forgotten after a while, as fans look forward to the character that comes after. Back during the upcoming release of Super Smash Bros. Wii U, the arrival of Mega Man was something that had fans excited. Not to mention the arrival of Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which occurred several years prior. In a way, it's easy for fans to take for granted the characters that occupy the Super Smash Bros. roster.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Super Smash Bros.. While Sora was confirmed to be the last fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it's uncertain whether or not the franchise will continue past this point. Whenever Nintendo launches a new system, it's possible that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be ported over and may include additional fighters. Although, it's impossible to tell what direction the series will take.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
