Super Smash Bros. Ultimate spirit events are a breath of fresh air for many players that help to break up the standard gameplay loop a bit. The tweet below reveals the next in game event that players can expect to see, and it seems that it will focus entirely on yellow spirits. According to the in game tool tip, the event will be called "Hello, Sunshine," and it will feature a ton of yellow spirits. Of course, these yellow and gold spirits aren't the only thing coming from this event, as players will get other benefits as well.

Spirit events in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate make it more likely for specific spirits to show up on the spirit board. Sometimes this means characters from a specific franchise, but in this instance it's all about what color a spirit is. Anything that's yellow or gold will appear much more often now.

In addition to this, players that manage to defeat one of these spirits will earn extra gold for their efforts, likely because gold also happens to be yellow. Though most players don't tend to need gold, it can be helpful when trying to collect spirits or when entering classic mode, so this is a nice cherry on top for the event. From the image shown, it looks as though spirits such as Hothead, Shine Sprite, Tapu Koko, Super Sonic, and more will all be appearing on the spirit board with increased rates during the event.

At the time of writing, the official US Smash Bros. Twitter account has only recently made an announcement about this upcoming event, but that is likely to change soon. From the tweet, players can learn the start date and duration of the event.  The event will begin on Friday, January 29th and run through the weekend for three days. This should give players plenty of time to search for, defeat, and collect their favorite spirits. Players should also remember that they can rematch any spirit they defeat during this event as well.

Players should be sure to take advantage of this spirit event on Friday once it starts, and rememer that it will only last over the course of the weekend. Now's a great time to stock up on gold, buy spirits, and run some classic mode challenges, but some of these spirit battles may not be easy.
