Many Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are looking forward to the next Fighters Pass of DLC characters coming to the game, with the very next character being from ARMS. After that, it's anyone's guess.
However, some have taken to looking back and celebrating a special day. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate added Joker into the mix one year ago, on April 17, 2019, and many quickly became enamored with him. He wasn't the first DLC character for the game—that honor belongs to Piranha Plant—but Joker was the first DLC fighter for the new Fighters Pass, revealed months prior at The Game Awards 2018.
As seen below, Joker's popularity in the game remains to this day. Some have criticized the Fighters Pass for featuring a ton of Fire Emblem characters, many are wondering what's coming next, and as many are completely content 1 year later with Joker.
Some noted that this character's appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brought their two favorite franchises together, while others noted that it was this crossover than introduced them to Persona 5. Either way, it seems safe to say this is the type of content and crossover that Smash Ultimate fans want, so it'll be interesting to see what Fighters Pass Vol. 2 entails.
