Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Character Leaked, And It's a Big One

ssbu ultimate leak

Every so often, a new rumor or "leak" appears for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate claiming to know who will be the next DLC character. There have been a few holdovers who pop up time and again like Doom's iconic Doomguy, whereas others are more unique like Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven StarsHowever, the latest DLC leak reveals a big DLC character for the crossover fighting game, if it is to be believed.

Leaks often live and die by their source, with the most-known leakers having a solid background of being accurate. This latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaker is known as Monsun, and just last month, he accurately leaked the existence of Half-Life: Alyx, as well as a variety of details about it. At the same time as Monsun leaked this, he also revealed that Half Life's Gordon Freeman would be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Other than that Freeman was coming to Smash Ultimate, the only other thing Monsun revealed was that an announcement would be made at the Game Awards. Since that takes place on December 12, interested fans will only need to wait a little longer to see if Monsun's Gordon Freeman in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leak proves to be true. But thus far, there seems to be little reason to doubt Monsun.

Many consider this to be a fake and for good reason. This sounds too good to be true, and even well-known Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaker Sabi seems to be struggling to believe this. Without the Half-Life: Alyx reveal leak to back Monsun up, there's simply no way this rumor would have gained the online traction it has, simply because of how far-fetched it sounds.

For now, the best thing is to take this latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leak with a grain of salt, as all leaks, and tune into the Game Awards on December 12 for the ultimate verdict on this leak. Smash Ultimate is up for Game of the Year, so it should be a good show regardless of whether or not there is an announcement of any sort, but it seems like there would be.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
