In its most recent Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo unveiled a slew of new information about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, its Switch-exclusive crossover fighting game with the largest roster in series history. A new character was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate during the Nintendo Direct, but so too were four new Mii Fighter costumes, with one in particular potentially lending more credibility to an old leak about the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighters.

The leak claimed that an Undertale character would be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. We know that Sans from Undertale is now represented in the game as an alternate Mii Gunner costume, though he's not featured as a full-fledged character. What's interesting is that the supposed leaker was unsure how Undertale would be represented in the game, and the fact that Sans is a Mii Gunner costume instead of his own character could explain why that was the case.

As for the fifth and final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character for the first Fighters Pass, the leaker that claimed an Undertale character would be in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate believes that it will be Waluigi. Fans have been asking for Waluigi since the game's announcement, and the character's absence in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has become a meme at this point.

While it's hard to say if Waluigi will ever actually be added to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster, his chances are better now than ever before. That's because Nintendo has confirmed that more Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC characters are in development beyond the five promised by the Fighters Pass. If Waluigi isn't the fifth fighter in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass, perhaps he will be added to the game as part of the second Fighters Pass.

Whatever the case may be, fans will just have to stay tuned for more information on future Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighters. In the meantime, they can look forward to downloading the Terry Bogard DLC in November.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
