Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC leaks are a dime a dozen, but this latest one may have more merit than others. It came about when a 4chan poster claimed to be Brew Elfen, someone who accurately leaked the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Piranha Plant DLC. The impostor Brew Elfen claimed that the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character would be Jonesy from Fortnite, but then the real Brew Elfen went to Facebook to say that DLC 5 will actually be Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden.

Elfen added that Ryu Hayabusa would be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in 2019, which would likely mean a December 2019 release date for the character. However, it's quite possible that Elfen was just joking in their post, as they also implied that Jonesy from Fortnite really would be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate by posting a picture of the character.

Like any supposed Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leak, fans should take it with a grain of salt. However, it's still worth pointing out that this is far from the first time Ryu Hayabusa has been rumored for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In fact, Hayabusa's name has been brought up for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster multiple times, though nothing official has come from it.

Of course, Ryu isn't the only character rumored for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC 5. Other rumors have pointed to Doom Guy joining the roster, or maybe even Waluigi. Others still claim that the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter will be a Monster Hunter from Capcom's series of the same name. There is so much misinformation out there that it's really impossible to say who the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter will be until Nintendo itself decides to make the announcement.

Really the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character could be just about anybody. The inclusion of Banjo-Kazooie shows that Nintendo is willing to reach out to even its major console competitors when it comes to filling out the roster of its ambitious crossover fighting game, opening the door for virtually any character to be added as DLC. And the fact that Nintendo is adding even more DLC characters after it fulfills the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass means that we don't even know how many DLC characters there will be when it's all said and done.

When it comes to the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter, fans will just have to stay tuned for an official announcement.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
