Not too long ago, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate revealed that its next DLC character would come from the ARMs Nintendo game but stopped short of revealing who that character is. A new rumor reveals that it may not be as simple as that.

All rumors should be taken with a massive grain of salt, and this one is no different. It was posted to the anonymous image board, 4chan, and provides no details to back up its authenticity. In detailing the laid-out plans for Nintendo's June Direct, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was brought up.

Reportedly, the ARMs character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate isn't actually one of them, but four: Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Ninjara, and Min-Min. These characters will supposedly operate in a manner similar to the Koopalings, where each character is identified seperate, comes with a single recolor, and their own special abilities. For example, it seems Spring Man can be replaced by Springtron on the battlefield. No release date is mentioned, but based on prior reveals, it is possible that these character pack drops after that Direct.

The rest of the ARMs roster will also join these DLC characters as the characters of their spirit board, with the last detail regarding these characters being that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate challenger pack 6 will come with 15 music tracks. Ultimately, it'll be interesting to see if this proves to be true, but if so, it cases a wide net for fan reaction: Spring Man and Ribbon Girl are the poster children, Ninjara is everyone's favorite dark horse, and Min Min is popular among its competitive scene.

The leak also mentions other games like the reported Paper Mario, new SNES online editions, mentions of the Pokemon Sword and Shield Isle of Armor DLC, and more. Apparently, the end will also operate as a dual reveal similar to Isabelle leading into Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with the 7th challenger pack being revealed as Geno leading into Super Mario RPG Remake. At the end of the day, though, fans should file this away as yet another Super Smash Bros. Ultimate rumor until something more consistent appears.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Switch.
