The big news for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players today was the reveal of the Byleth DLC, but that wasn't the only thing Nintendo announced for the ambitious crossover fighting game. New Mii costumes were also confirmed, based on franchises from Ubisoft, Capcom, and more.

Two Ubisoft-themed costumes are coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on January 28 in the form of an Altair outfit for the Mii Swordfighter and a Rabbids hat. Capcom will be represented by a Mega Man X costume for the Mii Gunner, as well as a MegaMan.EXE (based on the Battle Network series) that will also be available for the Mii Gunner. The Mii Gunner character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be getting even more love with the addition of the Cuphead costume. Each costume costumes $0.75 each, and they will all be available to purchase in the game beginning January 28.

The Cuphead costume for the Mii Gunner completely changes the way the character looks, to the point that it may as well be full-fledged Cuphead DLC. Not only that, but Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players that purchase the Cuphead costume will also get a bonus song from the game, Floral Fury.

This isn't the first time Nintendo has added elaborate Mii Fighter costumes to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In the past, fans have also had the chance to get Undertale DLC, a Team Rocket outfit, and more. At the very least, this gives Nintendo the chance to represent even more franchises than it would be able to otherwise.

In future, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans can expect even more Mii Fighter DLC costumes to get added to the game. After all, Nintendo has now committed to supporting Super Smash Bros. Ultimate all the way through December 2021, with plans to release a whopping six more DLC characters as part of the newly announced Fighters Pass Volume 2.

As for what franchises these future Mii Fighter DLC costumes will be based on, that remains to be seen. If anything, we've learned that these costumes can be based on just about anything, so fans will have to stay tuned to find out more information.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
