One dedicated fan has put together a breakdown of the best characters according to tournament placement and performance, noting which characters are shining at the top and which are underperforming in the current meta.
Reddit user BarnardsLoop congregated data from Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournaments to compile a list of what characters are performing well. BarnardsLoop provided two lists, one factoring in smaller regional tournaments and one focusing on high-end national and super level events. While some characters place on both lists, some characters on the regional level taper off or fail to place in high-end play. The top 15 characters from all events, including regional, are:
