Last month, Nintendo revealed Super Nintendo World will now open on February 2021. Initially, the theme park was supposed to open before the Japan Olympics but was postponed to the Spring of 2021 due to delays caused by the pandemic. As expected, the majority of Super Nintendo World features a Super Mario theme, but it appears now that players will also be able to see one of Nintendo's smaller franchises in the park.

In leaked photos posted by a select few who were able to visit a preview of Super Nintendo World, some eagle-eyed fans spotted a statue of Pikmin standing near Kinopio's Cafe. Although it is fairly difficult to spot them in the photo, fans of the character would surely recognize the familiar red, blue, and yellow Pikmin. Apart from Super Mario, it remains unclear which other Nintendo IP's will be featured in the park.

Several days ago, Nintendo hosted a Direct presentation centering on Super Nintendo World presented by Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto. Although the presentation showed provided viewers with an overview of some of the parks features and attractions, dataminers took matters into their own hands to find out other Nintendo characters that fans should expect to see in the park.

In a post by @KRoolKountry on Twitter, it was teased that aside from the Mario Kart augmented reality ride, Super Nintendo World could also feature a Donkey Kong-themed expansion. Although the information gathered by these dataminers appear convincing, it should still be taken with a grain of salt, especially since Nintendo hasn't mentioned Donkey Kong at all in its Direct presentation. Still, if these rumors turn out to be true, then there is a strong possibility that Nintendo could include a wide-variety of its other popular IPs, such as Animal Crossing, in Super Nintendo World.

Super Nintendo World will open on February 4th, 2021, in Universal Studios Japan.
