With E3 2020 canceled due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus pandemic, some of Nintendo's plans for the big show have leaked online. More specifically, Nintendo's plans to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario franchise have leaked, and they will apparently include remastering the 3D Super Mario games. And now a new report suggests that the games may be bundled together in one package.

VentureBeat is reporting that its source claims that Nintendo is putting together something similar to Super Mario All-Stars, but for 3D Super Mario games. For the uninitiated, Super Mario All-Stars collected and remastered the NES Super Mario Bros. games for the Super Nintendo. This new collection will reportedly include Super Mario 64Super Mario SunshineSuper Mario Galaxy, and Super Mario Galaxy 2.

VentureBeat suggests that Super Mario 3D World will get a separate release, which would align with past rumors of a Super Mario 3D World Switch port. It's also been suggested that Nintendo will release the 3D Super Mario remasters separately instead of in one package, but that remains to be seen.

10 GameCube Games We Want on Nintendo Switch - Super Mario Sunshine

Since the news broke that Nintendo is supposedly planning on announcing Super Mario remasters for the Switch, many fans have expressed their excitement online. Out of the 3D Super Mario games in the collection, it seems Super Mario Sunshine may be one of the most exciting games in the bunch, as the game is not playable on any modern gaming systems, whereas the other titles are available on the Wii U.

The reports coming out about the Super Mario remasters have also suggested that Super Mario fans have a lot more to look forward to in 2020 as well. Beyond the remasters, the reports claim that a new Paper Mario game is in the works for the Switch, and that the game will launch later in 2020. Other new Mario video game projects are also apparently on deck for 2020 as well, so fans should stay tuned for more information.

Nintendo is also supposedly going to reveal more about the Super Mario theme park at Universal Studios, as well as the Super Mario animated movie. Since E3 2020 was set to take place in June, one has to imagine that Nintendo will still host a presentation revealing all of this around that time, but it's possible that it will do so earlier or later than originally planned. Hopefully Nintendo provides some official details so fans can stop speculating.
