Since its launch, Super Mario Odyssey has earned widespread critical acclaim, and stands as one of the highest-rated video games ever made. Considering the game's massive popularity, it's no surprise that fans of Smosh Games were clamoring for Super Mario Odyssey to get the "Honest Trailer" treatment, and now those demands have been met.

Smosh has released an Honest Game Trailer for Super Mario Odyssey that pokes fun at the game's absurdity, particularly Mario's ability to capture enemies. However, unlike many other Honest Game Trailers, the one for Super Mario Odyssey is almost entirely positive, with the narrator heaping praise on the beloved Nintendo Switch-exclusive platformer.

The narrator describes Super Mario Odyssey as having "three George Clooneys worth of charm," and points out many reasons why it's a good game. The narrator specifically points out the game's strong controls, fun platforming mechanics, and how it is stuffed with a near-endless supply of collectibles for players to hunt down.

Something else praised by the Honest Game Trailer is Mario's extensive list of costumes. Throughout the game, players are able to collect gold coins that can in turn be used to purchase a variety of outfits for Mario to wear, ranging from swimming trunks to samurai armor. Not only does this feature give players even more to unlock in the game, but it makes Mario more customizable than he has been in any other mainline Super Mario title to date.

While the Super Mario Odyssey Honest Game Trailer is one of the most positive Honest Trailers we've seen, the game doesn't completely escape criticism. The narrator takes a shot at its use of motion controls, saying that their inclusion is an "insane design choice" on the part of Nintendo. Of course, the video fails to point out that motion controls in Super Mario Odyssey are completely optional, as the game offers numerous control schemes for players to use.

It's all in good fun, and hopefully Super Mario Odyssey fans can get a laugh out of its Honest Game Trailer treatment.

Super Mario Odyssey is available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
