With one day to go before its launch on Nintendo Switch, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is a game that many Nintendo fans are looking forward to playing. For those that did not own a Wii U, the port of the original Super Mario 3D World, in addition to bonus content in the form of Bowser's Fury, makes it a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch library. Now, fans of the game can show their appreciation of the game in the form of a new My Nintendo Rewards item.
The Nintendo loyalty program, My Nintendo Rewards, allows Nintendo users to redeem points earned by purchasing games and other projects as a way of receiving additional merchandise. My Nintendo Rewards offers a wide variety of different items for users to receive, but the program's most recent item is one that's based on Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
Nintendo recently announced that a Cat Mario themed keychain is now available to redeem for My Nintendo Rewards members. The Cat Mario keychain is stylized in the same format as the collectible stickers that can be unlocked throughout the game. However, the keychain was not the only new item added to My Nintendo Rewards.
In addition to the Cat Mario keychain, Nintendo also added a poster set that features three posters with box art of all the 3D Mario games featured in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Both the poster set and keychain are available to redeem on My Nintendo Rewards for 800 platinum points each.
The level of variance that is offered on My Nintendo Rewards is quite extensive. Although, Nintendo is known to remove items and replace them with new ones like the keychain and poster set. Ultimately, it depends on what sort of Nintendo games are popular right now and how soon they were released. For instance, Nintendo featured quite a number of physical merchandise items based on Pikmin 3 Deluxe, back when the game first released.
In any case, it will be interesting to see if any other additional items will be offered on My Nintendo Rewards. Keeping with the idea of Nintendo cycling out items depending on the popularity of certain games, it's possible that My Nintendo Rewards members could see some cool new merchandise being offered once more games start to release. With games like Bravely Default 2 and New Pokemon Snap releasing later this year, it's likely that a lot of new redeemable items will continue to be added.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is launching February 12, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
