While many great Wii U games have made their way over to the Nintendo Switch, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is one of the most anticipated one yet, especially after Nintendo divulged more information about the Bowser's Fury game mode a couple of weeks ago. While the upcoming game is a port of Super Mario 3D World, it seems to improve many aspects of the original release, especially with the new Super Mario Odyssey-esque Bowser's Fury mode.

While Nintendo left fans in the dark for some time about what exactly Bowser's Fury consisted of, the reveal of new features such as Fury Bowser, Giga Cat Mario, and the addition of Bowser Jr. has many fans excited for the release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury next month. Now, as early previews of the game have been distributed, fans can finally see the first few minutes of the Bowser's Fury game mode.

In one preview by YouTuber MonkeyKingHero showing the first five minutes of Bowser's Fury, viewers can see Mario traverse Lake Lapcat, venturing to different areas such as Scamper Shores, Pounce Bounce Isle, and Fort Flaptrap, while collecting Cat Coins and Cat Shines along the way. The preview shows just how helpful Bowser Jr. can be, assisting the player in taking out cat-themed enemies and gifting Mario power-ups the player has stored up over time.

Although this gameplay footage offers a longer look at areas previously revealed in screenshots and trailers for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, it does provide some interesting insights into the new mode. It seems that every dedicated area in Lake Lapcat has its own music track, giving each area a bit more personality. The new peculiarly-colored cats featured in promotional material for Bowser's Fury can also be seen throughout the preview, sometimes playfully chasing after Mario. It also looks like collecting Cat Shines will be very similar to collecting Moons in Super Mario Odyssey.

While the new previews for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury are able to show a bit of the highly anticipated game mode, the opening cutscenes and more are unable to be included at the time for the sake of embargo. Regardless, the new gameplay footage has many excited to jump into Bowser's Fury as soon as possible.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury is shaping up to be one of the Switch's most hefty Wii U ports, adding new features like online play, support for gyro controls, and more. If the game proves to be another success, it will be interesting to see if any more Wii U exclusives end up coming to the Nintendo Switch in the future

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury will launch on February 12 for the Nintendo Switch.
