Three major storefront retailers—Target, Walmart, and GameStop—have announced their bonus deals that will come with preordering a copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars as an incentive to buy from them.

Just last week, Nintendo surprise-announced a piece of news that Mario fans everywhere have been waiting all year for: three nostalgic favorites, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, will be coming to Nintendo Switch as soon as September 18th. The package deal is coming next week, called Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Likewise, pre-orders for the game are already available from storefront retailers.

The pre-order bonus gifts might not seem like much, which could be due to the retailers not having much time to plan anything big because of Nintendo's decision for an unexpected Direct. Unlike GameStop's offer of a mini fingerboard for a pre-ordered copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 or Target's bonus of a Tom Nook-themed journal with a copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizonsthese products look to be all printable items, an easy workaround to a time constraint.

Firstly, along with pre-ordering a copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars, buyers will get three sets of magnets, one from each of the three games in the ported collection. Each magnet sheet contains around 10 themed magnets, with fan-favorite characters like F.L.U.D.D. and Rosalina. Similarly, Walmart is giving three sheets of themed stickers to anyone who pre-orders from the department store, with several designs the same as Target's magnet set. Finally, GameStop may have released the most unique items of the three. If fans choose to pre-order from GameStop, they will receive themed Joy-Con covers that include three classically-designed Marios. Two covers are made for the Joy-Cons themselves while the middle piece, featuring Mario and F.L.U.D.D., will go on the controller attachment.

Perhaps with more time to plan, retailers would have been able to release something special with Super Mario's 35-year anniversary, such as collectible items based on the three games. Still, these items could become popular with kids playing the games alongside their parents who have anticipated the ports to the Switch for years. The game can also be pre-ordered from Amazon or the Nintendo Switch online eShop, but those won't yield any pre-order bonuses.

It looks like sales for Super Mario 3D All-Stars are already doing exceptionally well, and this isn't the only big Super Mario news to come out of Nintendo's most recent livestream conference. Fans can also look forward to Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury coming to the Switch in early 2021.
