Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League got a teaser for the upcoming video game thanks to a new poster for the upcoming DC Fandome event this October. The poster features Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot, who many know from the recent Suicide Squad films.

The Suicide Squad video game will follow the release of the movie of the same name by including the same characters (Harley Quinn, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang). The game will also include Superman as the main villain instead of a foe from either of the Suicide Squad movies. Funny enough, James Gunn considered making Superman the villain of The Suicide Squad, which would've tied in well with the game. However, Superman seems to be without an actor following the Justice League debacle with Warner Bros.

The Suicide Squad video game will be Rocksteady's next follow-up after its acclaimed Batman Arkham series, and both games take place in the same universe. Suicide Squad has been on a rising streak in recent years, which is good considering the fallout from the DC film of the same name in from David Ayer. Released in 2016, Ayer's Suicide Squad received mixed reviews, which have been attributed to the conflicting creative visions of the Warner Bros. executives and the director.

Suicide Squad Kills The Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has yet to drop any gameplay footage, which has fans anticipating what to expect. The game would be a new step forward in Rocksteady's DC game universe, which many thought would end with Batman but is now continuing with the villains/anti-heroes, as well as Superman. If the title is anything to go off, this game will be adding new characters into the universe from the Justice League who weren't seen in the Arkham games.

It would be nice to see some callbacks or easter eggs to either the Suicide Squad films or the Arkham games, but until fans get a look at gameplay there won't be much to expect. DC has a good track record at making high-quality games, so here's to hoping this one performs very well.

On the flip side, if this game does poorly then it doesn't mean the end for the famous team of anti-heroes, it would just be one misstep. Fans are waiting for more content to come out following the well-received Suicide Squad movie from Gunn this year, so they shouldn't worry since there will possibly be more come.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is expected to be released in 2022.
