While the titular team brings plenty of chaos and color, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will see an equally colorful cast of characters to support the team's effort to halt Brainiac's invasion and take down the members of the Justice League under his control. It isn't unusual for the team to turn to other characters from across the DC universe to accomplish their suicidal missions, especially given little care Amanda Waller has for how they complete the missions or if they even come back alive. It remains to be seen if any of the team will come back from this new mission alive, but at least their allies will ensure they go into it with all the arms and intel they need.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the latest game from Rocksteady set within the Batman: Arkham universe. The game will see the Task Force X team comprised of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark sent to Metropolis to halt Brainiac's latest attempt to invade and turn Earth into a new version of his homeworld, Colu. However, Brainiac's proverbial ace this time around looks to be the Justice League members under mind control of the alien cyborg, including Superman and Batman.

Rocksteady gave players a glimpse at some of the allies the squad will turn to for aid during their mission in the latest PlayStation State of Play, which looks to be a mix of known supervillains and lesser known characters getting the spotlight. The two most recognizable names from this supporting cast include Lex Luthor and Penguin, which may not come as a surprise to some players given the inclusion of Superman and Batman. While Luthor's role is not clear as of this writing, Penguin will provide the squad with the various armaments they need to combat the Justice League and Brainiac's forces across Metropolis.

The rest of the supporting cast spotlighted during the State of Play showcase are Hack, Toyman, and Gizmo, who some players may not be as familiar with. Toyman and Gizmo look to be the squad's two lead sources of gear, with Toyman focusing on the team's individual tools while Gizmo will develop "insane vehicle creations" with destructive capabilites. The "digital ghost" Hack will be the team's digital eyes, helping the squad navigate Metropolis while monitoring their neck-bombs.

In a game focused on the Suicide Squad, it is fitting the supporting cast consists of equally colorful characters the team will need to lean on in their battles. The squad has typically been one of the more tonally chaotic teams under DC Comics' umbrella, which is fitting given the various villains which has made up the team since 1987. In turn, it gives Rocksteady plenty of room to play with the cast to pick and choose who is included in the game, and it would not be surprising to see more outlandish characters pop up when the game launches and in subsequent content.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will release on May 26, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
