Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have the titular squad go head-to-head with Batman, with the Caped Crusader voiced by none other than the late Kevin Conroy. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will launch on May 26 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, as revealed by Game Awards 2022 host Geoff Keighley.

Longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy tragically passed away last month at the age of 66. Conroy was best known for voicing Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, a role that he reprised in the celebrated Batman: Arkham games from Rocksteady Studios. Conroy's performance as Batman in the Batman: Arkham games was acclaimed, but with Batman: Arkham Knight seemingly closing the book on Batman's story, many assumed that would be the last time Conroy would play the character in Rocksteady's Arkhamverse.

However, in an emotional and unexpected announcement, it's been confirmed that Conroy will be playing the role of Batman one last time, voicing the character in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. In the new game, Batman and the other members of the Justice League have been brainwashed by Brainiac, and so Amanda Waller forms the titular Suicide Squad to take them out.

In the new footage, players see that the Suicide Squad members have managed to successfully apprehend The Flash, though it's unclear exactly how they managed to do that. In any case, Flash loses a finger at the hands of Captain Boomerang, but he appears too beat-up to do much about it. Luckily for The Flash, but unfortunately for the Suicide Squad, fellow Justice League member Batman shows up at the end of the trailer to fight the squad.

This is the same Batman from the other Batman: Arkham games, but like the other Justice League members, he is under Brainiac's control. This means he's willing to kill, which makes Batman even more dangerous than he already was. Needless to say, the Suicide Squad are going to have their work cut out for them if they hope to stand a chance. Batman is showing pushing a detonator right as the trailer ends, so it seems fans will have to wait to play the game for themselves to see what happens next.

Now that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has a solid release date, fans know when they'll get to play the game for themselves. It's been quite a while since Rocksteady released the open world Batman: Arkham Knight, but hopefully it will be worth the wait.
