Fans of Rocksteady's Arkhamverse have been excited for the Suicide Squad game well before it was teased by the studio, but it seems safe to say it has not reached a fever pitch. With it likely taking place after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, there are a lot of characters that fans would like to see come back or be properly introduced for this new title.

There have been many members of the Suicide Squad over the years with the concept running in DC comics since 1959. Considering that the Arkhamverse has already taken characters from all time periods in DC's history, the characters that appear in this upcoming game can be from any era.

Some characters that have histories with the Suicide Squad however can't appear due to their deaths in the Arkhamverse already occurring. This includes King Shark and Captain Boomerang who were killed in supplementary material to the series. Unless the Batman: Assault on Arkham movie and the Batman: Arkham Knight comic books are deemed non-canon or this Suicide Squad game is a new canon, they will likely not appear. The only other way they could return would be if the upcoming Suicide Squad game was to take place before the movie, but nonetheless, there are some that seem like a shoe-in.

Deadshot

Deadshot, real name Floyd Lawton, has been a member of the Suicide Squad since its second incarnation in the comics starting in 1987. He is one of the most iconic members of the team with him being involved in most stories about them, as well as most adaptations.

Some may know Deadshot for his appearances in the Arkhamverse games already. He is a master sniper with multiple murders under his belt thanks to his occupation as a hired assassin, and Batman has gone toe to toe with Deadshot multiple times thanks to the events of Arkham City and Arkham Origins with him being stopped by Batman every time. After the events of Arkham Knight, its implied that he's gone into retirement with his daughter by his side.

Deadshot's reappearance in the Suicide Squad game could have him as a playable character in sections that require use of his sniping skills as well as other possible moments of gunplay. However, it's almost guaranteed that he will return considering that the logo shown in the teaser resembles a crosshair over Superman. This may mean that Deadshot was assigned to assassinate the man of steel himself, but fans may get a deeper dive into the story at DC Fandome.

Killer Frost

Suicide Squad Killer Frost

Killer Frost, real name Louise Lincoln, is a super villain with the ability to generate extremely cold temperatures from her body. This results in her being able to freeze people and objects at will, making her very dangerous to fight up close. While originally appearing as a villain for the superhero, Firestorm, she was roped into the Suicide Squad in the Arkhamverse during the Assault on Arkham movie.

During the events of the movi,  Killer Frost grew close to the villain, King Shark. However, he was killed by Amanda Waller's bomb that was placed inside his neck. During an attempted escape from Arkham via a police car, Bane threw the car Killer Frost was in, causing it to explode. Her status is currently unknown, with it never later being mentioned.

Due to the fact that her status isn't confirmed, her return could be as either an ally or adversary to the Suicide Squad in the upcoming game. It would be very likely that she would want revenge on Amanda Waller for the events in Assault on Arkham, making her reappearance have a lot of potential for story telling.

Harley Quinn

There's no question that Harley Quinn went through a lot during the events of the Arkhamverse. From being under Joker's thumb for years to believing she was pregnant with his baby after getting a false positive on a pregnancy test, there were a lot of stories and traumas connected to her character. Because of this and her recent affiliation with the Suicide Squad in official media, including the Assault on Arkham movie, she will likely be a main character in the upcoming Suicide Squad game.

Harley Quinn has already been made playable in Arkham Knight's Harley Quinn Story Pack, where her gameplay is lot of acrobatic moves as well as rages that can instantly take down multiple foes. This could be added onto for gameplay in Suicide Squad if she were to become the main playable character for the game's story.

Rick Flag

Rick Flag

Rick Flag has been part of the Suicide Squad since its conception in comics. In the current continuity, his real name is Anthony Miller, and he was brainwashed into thinking he was the son of the original Suicide Squad's leader. When he learned about Amanda Waller bringing the Suicide Squad back, he joined voluntarily; while he disagreed with Waller's reasoning, he still promised to follow orders for the sake of the mission.

Having him appear in the Suicide Squad game would be important for the series's history as well as potentially bring new angles to his character that haven't been explored yet. While he doesn't have any super powers, he is very skilled in firearms, physical combat, and tracking skills thanks to his background with the military. His skills with combat are so great that a fight with Batman resulted in a stalemate.

Enchantress

Enchantress, real name June Moone, is a magic-user in the DC universe that has served as both a super hero and a super villain over the years. In order to get help controlling the evil side of herself that was also the source of her magic, she accepted Amanda Waller's offer to join the Suicide Squad. Many times during their missions, her powers would go out of control with Deadshot and Captain Boomerang often being the ones to be forced to take her down.

Being a magic-user would add new interesting gameplay opportunities to Rocksteady's Suicide Squad, whether it be with a friend, foe, or playable character. Even if Enchantress wasn't the main playable character in Suicide Squad, her skillset could potentially make for great gameplay sections like with Deadshot mentioned earlier.

Suicide Squad is currently in development.
