Even before Harley Quinn was introduced into live-action films, cosplayers were imitating her iconic style based on her appearances in the DC comics. The character’s latest appearance in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad has been highly appreciated by fans and cosplayers have found a new look to replicate.
In the past few weeks, several images have been shared by cosplayers on social media after having replicated Quinn’s look from her latest adventure. One of them was Reddit user cllownin, who looks like a spitting image of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn from The Suicide Squad. Sharing her image on Reddit’s r/cosplay page, cllownin immediately started receiving positive feedback from other cosplayers and DC fans.
In the image, cllownin is seen in a frilly red dress similar to the one Quinn wears through most of The Suicide Squad while holding a tree branch. She wears the same black boots and has a hairstyle identical to Quinn’s. She jokes about Quinn’s obsession with the javelin in the film in the caption, which reads, “Who needs a javelin when you have a stick?” She has previously created Harley Quinn's look from Batman: The Animated Series as well.

In the film, Robbie’s Quinn truly got the opportunity to shine. She was a part of one of the best action sequences in The Suicide Squad when she manages to wipe out an entire army of guards to escape captivity, all while in a dress. Of course, she has to tear off a rather large piece of the dress to help her fight better, but she is quite skillful in her fighting techniques either way. She is captured and beaten up by some goons before all that, a result of her killing the dictator of Corto Maltese after his attempts to woo her eventually prompted her to notice some red flags, leading to a nose bleed.
Reddit user cllownin has managed to get the look complete, with appropriate face paint and the right amount of fabric being torn off from the dress. It is a great reminder of the epic action sequence in The Suicide Squad that includes Quinn.
Along with the floral gunfire and quick parkour-like moves, the action sequence personifies Quinn’s eccentric personality. Amid all the chaos, she doesn’t forget the responsibility placed on her by her colleague Javelin at the beginning of the film. She carries his weapon with her till the end of the film.
The Suicide Squad is now showing at theaters and streaming on HBO Max.
