Back in 2016, Grasshopper Manufacture's debut video game The Silver Case was released in English for the first time on PC, followed by a PlayStation 4 release the following year. The version released worldwide was a remaster of the 1999 PS1 visual novel directed by Goichi "Suda51" Suda that kickstarted the Kill the Past series of games, which has had a rocky history with English localizations dating all the way back to its very first entries. Now, Suda51 has announced that The Silver Case and its sequel, The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, will be coming to Nintendo Switch in early 2021.

This collection combines both The Silver Case titles for the first time and, while no English localization news has been announced, the game's English website does acknowledge the Switch release, and the hosts during the games's Indie Live 2 announcement acknowledged that an English release is planned. The collection, simply titled Silver 2425, is being published by indie digital publisher Playism, known for publishing titles such as Yume Nikki, Va-11 Hall-A, and D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die, however the collection will also see a physical release, at least in Japan.

This announcement comes right after the sudden release of No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle on Nintendo Switch, alongside the release of the latest No More Heroes 3 trailer. While these releases are under different publisher (Marvelous being responsible for No More Heroes' ports and Playism porting The Silver Case and its sequel,) these ports are likely an effort from Suda and Grasshopper Manufacture to bring more of its titles to Nintendo Switch before the release of No More Heroes 3, which is anticipated to be a culmination of the entire Kill the Past series, set up by the events in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.

The Kill the Past series is a collection of standalone titles developed by Suda51 beginning with Twilight Syndrome: Investigation Volume and Twilight Sydrome: Search Volume, developed by Human Entertainment for the PlayStation. While the series initially only consisted of 1997's Moonlight Syndrome, 1999's The Silver Case, 2001's Flower, Sun, and Rain, 2005's Killer7, and The 25th Ward: The Silver Case, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes introduced the No More Heroes franchise into the Kill the Past series as well as 2013's Killer is Dead. Unlike other video game series, Kill the Past is not connected by a single universe like Remedy's Connected Universe, instead the games are connected by themes and references, which were brought together in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.

Silver 2425 will release in Japan on February 18th 2021, an English release has been confirmed but no information has been revealed.
