Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch is hard at work on the company's next big project. While there aren't many details on what the next game might be, it's even possible that it could even be the much-anticipated and much talked about Ghost of Tsushima sequel.

There have certainly been more than a few Sucker Punch fans who hope that the game's next project would be a Ghost of Tsushima 2. However, Sucker Punch has some other rather popular IPs under its umbrella that it could be returning to as well, assuming that the company doesn't want to start an entirely new saga altogether. The company has been able to have success making open-world games as well as titles that have a more linear storytelling approach. This time around, it looks like it's going back to the open-world well, at least one more time.

A new job listing on the Ghost of Tsushima developer's website lays out what exactly Sucker Punch is looking for, as well as why. Right at the top of the list is the explanation that the ideal candidate for the new writer job is someone who has experience writing impactful "character-driven stories in an open-world game."

Jin from Ghost Of Tsushima

The listing goes on to say that this new writer will also need to have the ability to craft emotional stories with memorable characters. Beyond those little hints at what might be coming down the road, the rest of the listing includes details that are mainly generic to a video game writer position. While some of these kinds of listing will hint at whether a game might be fantasy or science fiction, this one doesn't point in either of those directions.

There are some guesses that can be made from this Sucker Punch job listing. Assuming that the company is not working on an entirely new IP, it would seem at the very least that this new project is not another entry in the more linear Sly Cooper franchise, despite rumors popping up about such a game.

It's also interesting that nowhere on the job listing does it say this will be a brand-new franchise. That could mean that rumors that started early last fall around a new entry in the Infamous franchise are finally coming to fruition. However, the more likely scenario could be that this job listing is in reference to the rumored Ghost of Tsushima 2 instead.

Ghost of Tsushima is available on PS4 and PS5.
