While uncovering the secrets beneath the arctic waves of Subnautica: Below Zero, players will come across a wide variety of resources. These can include edible food sources, biological materials, pieces of leftover technology, and mineral ore. Some raw materials, such as Diamonds, can also be used to craft and even upgrade certain tools, equipment, and vehicles.

In the world of Subnautica, Diamonds are sturdy, crystalline minerals that are used to make diving equipment more durable and powerful. It is a key ingredient in Enameled Glass as it has a high-pressure resistance. These minerals can also be used with the Habitat Builder to construct the Modification Station. Here, players will be able to upgrade certain tools such as the Fins, Prawn Suit, Seatruck, and the Survival Knife.

Throughout the game, Diamonds can be located in a number of locations, including the Arctic Spires, the Crystal Caves, the Deep Twisty Bridges, Delta Island, both the East and West Arctic regions, the Koppa Mining Site, the Glacial Basin, as well as the Thermal Spires. Although, they tend to reside at lower depths. While they can be found along the seabed, players may also encounter them within Ore Veins, in Large Resource Deposits, or as resource offerings from the mischievous Sea Monkeys. Once a player has found a spot for mining Diamonds, they can place a Beacon there to mark the location for later.

A good place to look for Diamonds in particular is in the Deep Twisty Bridges. Again, they're mostly located at some pretty extreme depths. For this expedition, players may want to bring along some special equipment such as the Rebreather, a couple of High Capacity O2 Tanks, and some Bladderfish to help replenish their oxygen supply. Players can also bring a Seatruck as this will help ease the stress of needing to resurface if the player runs out of oxygen.

Those planning on gathering Diamonds in the Deep Twisty Bridges should remember to free up their inventory storage. This way, they will be able to collect as many Diamonds as possible on a single trip. Players should also be cautious when exploring the trench. There are a number of hostile deepsea creatures dwelling at the bottom. Be patient and pay attention to where enemies are at all times. Some of these creatures can easily inflict a lot of damage to the player.
