After years of development, Subnautica has been released to the public and has had a warm welcome from fans. As one of the newest sandbox survival games on the market, Subnautica tasks gamers to survive in the vast ocean and explore its depths.
As one of the many things players can do in Subnautica, fans can collect various sea creatures' eggs for different purposes. These are usually scattered throughout the ocean floor underneath debris or in between rocks in different regions.
Until the eggs are hatched, they will all be labeled as "Unknown Creature Egg." However, Subnautica fans will be able to tell them apart by the size, exterior appearance, and which biome they found them in. So for players looking to understand more about the creature eggs, here is all the necessary information.
Of the many uses, eggs can be scanned, added to the databank, and then released into the wild. When hatched this way, most creatures will not attack the player, except the Ampeel and the Crabsquid. Eggs can also be used as fuel for the Bioreactor in the Mobile Bay, although they do not provide as much energy as a fully grown creature.
Once creature eggs are found, they can be placed in Alien Containment. After different amounts of time, depending on the egg, they will hatch into smaller animal versions. This is when players should move the creature into the aquarium. Just make sure to check the population limit isn't exceeded, or else the animals will die. There are two different types of eggs, ones for normal creatures and bosses, all labeled below with their respective video game biomes.

Ampeel Egg (2x2) can bound in Blood Kelp and Bulb Zone with an energy value 259. Boneshark Egg (2x2) can be found in Bulb, Mushroom Forest, and Underwater Islands Zones with an energy value 210. Crabsnake Egg (2x2) can be found in Jellyshroom Cave with an energy value 231. Crabsquid Egg (2x2) can be found in Deep Grand Reef, Northern Blood, and Kelp Zones with an energy value 259. Crashfish Egg (1) can be found in Kelp Forest Caves, Safe Shallows, and Safe Shallows Cave Zones with an energy value of 189. Cuddlefish Egg (1) can be found in Deep Grand Reef Degasi Base, Dunes Sinkhole, Lost River Laboratory, Northeaster Mushroom Forest Caves, Northwestern Mushroom Forest Caves Zones with an energy Value 210.
Gasopod Egg (2x2) can be found in Crash Zone Mesas, Dunes, and Safe Shallows Zones with an energy value 231. Jellyray Egg (2x2) can be found in Deep Grand Reef, Mushroom Forest, and Mushroom Forest Caves Zones with an energy value 119. Lava Lizard Egg can be found in Lava Castle and Lava lakes Zones with an energy value 189. Mesmer Egg (1) can be found in Bulb Zone, Bulb Zone Caves, and Bone Field Zones with an energy value of 175. Rabbit Ray Egg (1) can be found in Safe Shallows Zone. Energy value 140. Sand Shark Egg (2x2) can be found in Grassy Plateaus Zone with an energy value 210. Spadefish Egg (1) can be found in Deep Sparse Reef, Grand Reef, Grassy Plateaus Caves, Underwater Islands, Underwater Islands Caves Zones with an energy value 140. Unique Eggs
Sea Dragon Leviathan can be found in the Disease Research Facility and Primary Containment Facility Egg Lab. Sea Emperor Leviathan Egg can be found in Primary Containment Facility. Ghost Leviathan Egg can be found in Lost River and Tree Cove.
Subnautica is available now for Mac, PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and it's also coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021.
