Kentarou Miura's Berserk has left a huge impact on the entertainment industry. The series has inspired many manga, anime, and even video games. Very few manga can actually boast of having the same influence as Berserk.

Guts has fought against ridiculously powerful apostles, who possess powers that a normal human can only dream of having. However, not every single villain has made Guts work for victory. With that in mind, here are the strongest villains in Berserk.

Over the course of the series, there have been many instances where these villains have caused problems for Guts and his friends. They have extraordinary powers, but no sense of remorse, so they do as they please and there's no one to stop them. With that in mind, we have added some of the best Berserk villains to the list.

14 Wyald

Wyald was an apostle, who was the leader of the Black Dog Knights. He was an incredibly evil character, who thrived off the fear of other people. Even the King of Midland was reluctant to use the service of Wyald and his Black Dog Knights, but when the remnants of the Band of Hawk ran away with Griffith, he ordered Wyald to go after them.

As an apostle, Wyald had insane physical strength which allowed him to tear humans apart without any difficulties. His charisma allowed him to scare other criminals to the point where they obeyed every single one of his orders. After slaughtering dozens of members of the Band of Hawk, Wyald was eventually killed by Zodd.

13 The Count

The Count became a cruel person after he found out that his wife was a heretic, and she indulged in forbidden practices. In his rage, the Count killed all the heretics except for his wife, whom he used as a sacrifice to become an apostle.

In his apostle form, the Count's strength increased by several folds. In addition to his physical strength, the Count had the ability to regenerate from almost every injury. The Count could also take over the body of another person and use it to attack his enemies.

12 Mozgus

Mozgus was a chief inquisitor of the Holy See. He believed that the world was riddled with heretics and by killing them, he was helping to make the world a better place. Mozgus was accompanied by his group of torturers, who helped to punish the heretics.

Once Mozgus transformed, he gained numerous abilities, which included getting an armor that was impervious to almost any damage. Mozgus also had the ability to breathe fire from his mouth, which could incinerate anything in its path. His transformation also granted him wings, which he used to fly, and he could also use the feathers from his wings as blades.

11 Daiba

Daiba, Kushan Sorcerer from Berserk

Daiba served under Ganishka, who has been the strongest apostle in the entire series so far. Daiba's talent lies in sorcery and due to his skill, Ganishka named him the leader of the Pishacha. Daiba doesn't rush into fights, in fact, he likes to observe his opponents before engaging them.

Daiba's perception saved his life on multiple occasions such as when he managed to withstand Ganishka's essence by using his magic to create a veil. He is also able to summon mythical creatures, which can cause a lot of problems for his opponents.

10 Locus

Also known as the "Moonlight Knight," Locus is the only apostle who has been seen accompanying Griffith to important meetings. Due to Locus' calm and collected demeanor, Griffith takes council from him.

Locus is hailed as a legendary fighter, who boasts of an immaculate fighting record. He wields a lance in battle with which he can take down tens of enemies at once. In addition to being a strong fighter, Locus is also one of the smartest characters in Berserk.

9 Rakshas

A master assassin, Rakshas was exiled by the Kushan clan after committing acts of heresy. He met Griffith and joined the new Band of Hawk, where he was made the commander of the search and destroy squad.

As a malevolent individual, Rakshas toys with his prey before finally disposing of them. A truly twisted individual, Rakshas is among the most notorious characters.

8 Irvine​​​​​

Irvine is one of the few fighters in the series, who use long-ranged weapons for fighting. His preferred weapon of choice is the bow. Irvine's mastery over the bow and arrow allows him to hit multiple targets at once.

In his apostle form, Irvine's abilities increase to an unfathomable level. He becomes quicker and stronger, and it allowed him to single-handedly wipe out almost all the Kushan generals. Irvin can also use the fur from his lower body to get create arrows that can exterminate several enemies with ease.

7 Sea God

The Sea God was awakened from its deep slumber by the Great Roar of the Astral World. Armed with several hundred tentacles, the Sea God devoured the inhabitants of the island that it was bound to. The Sea God had other monsters residing within its body, which added to its defenses.

To top it all up, the heart of the Sea God had its own defense in the form of a sonic weapon. Even Guts had a tough time fighting against this monster and he needed to toil a lot in order to get rid of it.

6 Zodd

Also known as "Zodd the Immortal"; he was responsible for tormenting armies for several centuries. Zodd's desire for battling strong adversaries led him to move from one battlefield to another.

As an apostle, Zodd's power enabled him to overwhelm countless normal humans at once, and he had never been scratched in a fight until he met Guts and Griffith. He is easily one of the strongest fighters in the series. Currently, Zodd holds a high position within the newly formed Band of the Hawk.

5 Grunbeld

Grunbeld reincarnated as an apostle

Grunbeld's heroics during the Hundred Years War where he was able to fend off the Tudor invasion with a very small army turned him into a legendary figure. After being reborn as an apostle, Grunbeld's strength increased by many folds, and he was appointed to be a captain within the new Band of Hawk.

Grunbeld's displayed his strength as a fighter when he fought against Guts. He was able to dominate the fight until Guts pulled out the Berserker armor.

4 Ganishka

Ganishka was an apostle that wanted to supersede the God Hand. His hatred of the God Hand drove him to seek more power in order to be able to defeat them. Ganishka's superior powers separated him from most of the apostles.

He was able to get the better of Zodd, which is a big feat in itself. Ganishka's power was further bolstered after being reincarnated as he lost his sanity and was set on destroying everything in his path. However, his power paled in comparison to that of Griffith or any other member of the God Hand.

3 Griffith

Griffith is among the main characters in the series and arguably the most hated. His transition from a good person to a heinous demon shattered the hearts of many readers. After the eclipse, Griffith was reborn as Femto, a member of the God Hand.

The sacrifice of his comrades allowed Griffith to become much more powerful than any normal human. He gained several new abilities, including being able to control gravity and space. The combination of these extremely strong abilities allows Griffith to dodge lethal attacks.

2 God Hand

Originally, the God Hand was made up of four members— Void, Slan, Ubik, and Conrad. Each member of the God Hand has outrageous abilities, which separates them from the apostles. The difference in power is so great that not even a strong apostle like Zodd dares to stand up to them.

All the members have different abilities— Void can manipulate space, Ubik can open time and space. All these unique abilities make them ridiculously powerful. They are among the strongest characters in the series.

The Idea of Evil supplants every entity in Berserk, including the God Hand. It has been deemed responsible for the fate of mankind. The Idea of Evil exists within the Abyss, and it has no real shape.
