With the recently released Streets of Rage 4 receiving positive fan reaction, some are getting a bit of a nostalgia wave for the originals. One area that is getting some attention is just how great those original soundtracks were, and Wayo Records is thinking the same thing.

Wayo Records is reissuing the soundtracks of 1991's Streets of Rage and 1992's Streets of Rage 2 with the "Perfect Soundtracks." A soundtrack collection of Yuzo Koshiro's work on both seminal SEGA beat-em-ups releasing for each game. Wayô is taking it a set further for authenticity by not just putting these soundtracks on CD, but also cassette.

Truly trying to capture the flavor of the mid-90s, Wayô announced that their re-release is expanding platforms to an even harder format to play. The cassette tapes for both Streets of Rage 2 Perfect Soundtrack and Streets of Rage Perfect Soundtrack will set fans back €10,50 (~$12) each. While not the most practical media format, for those looking for that authentic 90s Streets of Rage soundtrack experience, that can now achieve it. Classic gaming soundtracks on cassettes seem to be the flavor of the year as Doom Eternal's Collector's Edition was also set to feature one until it was delayed to post-launch.

This celebration of Streets of Rage is coming hot off the release of Streets of Rage 4. The fourth numbered entry in the beat-em-up franchise releases 26 years after Streets of Rage 3 graced the Sega Genesis in 1994. It releases to a lot of positive reception with it handily being one of the best reviewed 2D Beat-Em-Ups of the last decade. Subscribers of Xbox Game Pass have the opportunity to give it a chance as the recent release is now available on the service.

Streets of Rage 4 is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
