While fans have known about the full roster for a while, Street Fighter 6 finally revealed every character coming at launch through their own trailer. In the February 2023 State of Play, a brief Capcom block included a Street Fighter 6 trailer focusing on Zangief, Lily, and Cammy - the last three fighters in Street Fighter 6's 18-man roster. It's good to see the returning combatants and T. Hawk's successor in top form, and the game looks to be coming along great.

Street Fighter 6 will be an attempt to revitalize the series after Street Fighter 5's disastrous launch, and could be exactly what the fighting game genre needs. Not only have multiple betas confirmed that Street Fighter 6's rollback netcode is top-of-the-line, it's also coming with a robust single-player campaign that involves Street Fighter's first custom character. Street Fighter 6 might have some serious momentum going into launch, and what could be its last big trailer has fueled that fire.

The State of Play trailer led with the Red Cyclone, Zangief. This Russian wrestler has continued to hone his bodybuilding and fighting skills, and has apparently been working as a coach to pass those skills on. Appearing in the familiar Barmaley Steelworks stage, Zangief shows off his greatest number of command grabs yet. In addition to several returning favorites, Zangief can now counter-throw grounded kicks, and his V-Trigger 1 from Street Fighter 5 is now a super that sucks opponents into a grab. Perhaps the best part of Zangief's late reveal is how he perfectly demonstrates the way fat and muscles are dynamically animated in the RE Engine.

Moving over to the streets of Britain, Delta Red agent Cammy is once again on the job. Returning from Street Fighter 2 alongside Zangief and much of Street Fighter 6's base roster, Cammy now sports some athletic clothes in addition to a blue jacket with the Union Jack on its back. Cammy keeps her mobile fighting style, but a PlayStation Blog post reveals that she can delay some of her special moves, and her Hooligan Combination has new options. What really excited Street Fighter veterans was Cammy's new super, referencing a moment in Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie where she folds a man in half. Looking more stylish and brutal than ever, Cammy is sure to please legacy fans.

Street Fighter 6 Will Launch With One More Newcomer

It wouldn't be a Street Fighter 6 trailer without a bit of new blood, and Lily more than provides. This newcomer hails from the same Thunderfoot tribe as Street Fighter 2's T. Hawk, though any further relation is currently unknown. Regardless, Lily has inherited many of T. Hawk's signature moves, resulting in a hybrid grappler who can soar across the stage. Reminiscent of Soulcalibur 6's Talim, Lily has some control over the wind and can use a new Condor Wind ability to give her other specials a Windclad stock. As one of the smallest playable characters Street Fighter has seen to-date, Lily should bring a mix of new and old techniques to the table.

Another trailer introducing Street Fighter 6's image song, which it also shares with Street Fighter 2: The Animated Movie, was released on social media. However, nothing else new was featured. It's unclear what future trailers could reveal apart from actual story details or the leaked DLC characters, and the game is only a few months away. Regardless, many hopes are riding on Street Fighter 6, and the game certainly looks like it will deliver.

Street Fighter 6 releases June 2 on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
