The ransomware attack against Capcom continues to lead to further major leaks. The latest leak is described as a Capcom spreadsheet providing a detailed outlook at the studio's tentative release plans for the next four years. Unsurprisingly, one of the titles with a major presence on the list is Street Fighter 6, the next game in Capcom's hugely popular fighting game series. What may be surprising is the fact that Street Fighter 6 appears on the list three different times.

Street Fighter 6's first appearance on the list is only surprising in that it isn't as early as some may have expected. Clearly, Street Fighter 6 isn't arriving any time soon. But according to this list Street Fighter 6 won't be making an appearance at all in 2021. If the leak is to be believed, Capcom is currently planning to launch Street Fighter 6 in 2022. Further, it won't be launching until Q3 2022, so it may be as far as two years away from launching.

The second and third mentions of Street Fighter 6 are in Q4 2023 and Q4 2024. Street Fighter fans likely already know what that's implying. The games listed are for Super Street Fighter 6 and Ultra Street Fighter 6, annual iterations on the fighting game. Street Fighter 4 received both a Super edition and an Ultra edition, but Street Fighter 5 changed things up and had an Arcade edition and a Championship edition instead. Nevertheless, a pattern of two additional annual releases following a Street Fighter game's initial launch is definitely a pattern.

Super and Ultra editions tend to repackage the base Street Fighter game with the assorted DLC that has been released for the game since launch. Sometimes, like in Mortal Kombat 11's case, a larger expansion with new story content and modes can be included. Capcom tends to focus more on new characters and stages, but anything is possible looking forward.

It remains to be seen whether the leaked information is accurate. And it's also possible that Capcom fans will never find out the truth. A 2022 launch for Street Fighter 6 gives Capcom plenty of time change its plans, to delay or even cancel the project. Even if it's accurate now, it may be wrong then. And even if it turns out to be accurate then, that doesn't mean it's correct now. Street Fighter fans should remain skeptical.

The full list does have a lot of exciting possibilities, however. Dragon's Dogma 2, a Resident Evil 4 remake, and a new Onimusha are shown to be planned for 2022. 2023 is even more exciting, with Monster Hunter 6 and a new Resident Evil Apocalypse game planned. Capcom's tentative plans, if accurate, are very exciting to consider.

Street Fighter 6 has not been officially announced.
