Fight fans the world over are eagerly awaiting the arrival of Street Fighter V next year. While the game won't ever be made available on Xbox One, much to the chagrin of Microsoft aficionados, there's little question that the next iteration in the iconic fighting series is well on its way to appeasing gamers with a quality title. One of the biggest questions dedicated players have, however, pertains to which characters will be featured on the roster.

During a panel at San Diego's Comic-Con 2015, Capcom assured players that another mainstay of the franchise would be making his triumphant return. As it turns out, the fighter set to make his reemergence in Street Fight V is none other than Ryu's main rival and best friend, Ken Masters.

While the return of Ken never seemed out of the question, many fans of the longstanding entrant are likely to be happy that he's back. That said, Masters isn't the same fighter that many have become accustomed to this time around. Instead, the veteran will play a lot less like Street Fighter poster boy Ryu, instead opting to develop his own unique maneuvers and feel.

Setting aside Ken's modified appearance, which limits his iconic red robes to his lower torso and slings his golden locks into a ponytail, there are a number of revamped moves the hero now has. Admittedly, many of these fire-filled attacks look similar in nature to that of Ryu, but they have been modified substantially to give Ken a much more signature means of combating foes.

If that weren't enough, Capcom also teased another new fighter at the end of Ken's Comic-Con reveal trailer. This individual has a painted face and dreadlocks unlike anything seen in the Street Fighter series before, which leads us to believe that the challenger is a newcomer. Given the creepy means in which he's teased, fans should be pretty safe in assuming the character's motives are less than Saint-like as well.

Still, some fans are speculating that the individual teased at the end could be Urien, a returning character that may have been leaked alongside three others. That is, of course, assuming that the reports are true and that this isn't a brand new fighter, but only time will tell what Capcom has planned for Street Fighter fans on PlayStation 4 and PC.
