Street Fighter 5 is swiftly approaching its final season of content with Season Five on the horizon. Recently, Capcom announced a live stream that would reveal new characters coming to the game as DLC.

The live stream for Street Fighter 5 happened earlier today and players finally know what characters are coming to the game. The stream announced that Dan, Rose, Oro and Akira from the Rival School franchise will be coming to the game as DLC for Season 5.

Street Fighter 5 recently saw a massive update through Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition. While the game still has some technical hiccups that need to be ironed out, the overall experience is definitely an improvement to the base edition of the game. In addition to given characters extra abilities like double V skills, it also included many balance and gameplay tweaks that Street Fighter 5 needed. Capcom has been steadily supporting the game with new updates and an ever-growing roster.

Now, as revealed in a recent live stream, that roster will be seeing four new additional characters alongside other updates like a two week free trial for players to jump in and try. The four new characters releasing during Season 5 are Dan Hibiki from Street Fighter Alpha, Rose from Street Fighter Alpha, Oro from Street Fighter 3, and Akira Kazama from Rival Schools: United By Fate. Akira is an interesting inclusion, as Rival Schools isn’t technically a Street Fighter game, but is set in the same universe as Street Fighter.

The live stream also revealed the road map for Season 5 indicating when each character will be releasing. Dan is up first and will be releasing sometime in winter 2020. Next, Rose will be releasing sometime in spring of 2021, then Oro and Akira will release sometime in summer of 2021. Finally, a new unrevealed character will release in fall of 2021. Additionally, new costumes and stages will release with each wave of characters. While speculation, this DLC could possibly indicate that Street Fighter 6’s release time is still far off.

Regardless, fans will still have plenty to enjoy, learn, and master in Street Fighter 5 for quite some time as the Season 5 DLC steadily rolls out in 2020 and 2021. It is important to note, however, that this will be Street Fighter 5’s final season, so the brand new content will probably come to a halt after Season 5 is finished. Still, there’s no doubt that Street Fighter 5 has had an amazing run over the years.

Street Fighter 5 is available on PC, PS4, and Arcades.
