Street Fighter 4 is now available for the iPhone.  Capcom's flagship fighting series arrives packing a startling amount of content, great graphics, and surprisingly responsive controls.

Eight characters make their way to the small screen: Abel, Blanka, Chun-Li, Ryu, M. Bison, Dhalsim, Guile, and Ken.  Each fighter carries his or her signature moveset over from the console versions of Street Fighter 4.  Granted, there are concessions in the control department.  Chiefly, Punch and Kick have been relegated to a single button each.  Focus Attacks and Special Moves now have dedicated buttons, as well.

You've got seven sharp looking backgrounds to fight on, again pulled straight from the console editions of Street Fighter 4.  Controls are nicely customizable: button placement and transparency can be adjusted, though I found the default configuration perfectly acceptable.  Players can battle through Solo Play, train in the Dojo, and even play head to head with other players over bluetooth.

The announcement of an iPhone port of Street Fighter 4 was met with puzzled gazes from many gamers.  Just how was Capcom going to cram such a big game onto such a small platform?  After all, Capcom had famously stated that SF4 would never see a Wii release, as Nintendo's console just wasn't powerful enough to do the game justice.

Currently featuring a five star rating on Apple's App Store, the final game should calm any fears.  In my own brief time with Street Fighter 4, I have been most impressed by just how good the control is.  Ryu's Shoryuken and Tatsumaki Senpukyaku flew from my fingers.  (This is great news for me, due to my cunning strategy of only using those two moves.)

Granted, the iPhone version is unlikely to take center stage in the Street Fighter tournament community anytime soon.  But mobile gamers who want a little Street Fighter on the go really couldn't ask for more.  Will you be playing?

Street Fighter 4 is currently available from Apple's App Store for $9.99.
