With the advent of livestreaming and the growing popularity of services like Twitch, streamers have quickly begun to push the envelope in an effort to get views and clicks. However, one streamer found that his efforts to get attention led to a real-life incident – one that he would likely take back. While trying to capture footage of a security guard, the streamer is hit by the ricochet of a bullet firing into the ground.

Furry Potato Live is apparently a streamer that specializes in Cop Watch videos. He goes around to various forms of law enforcement to film them in the hopes that something might happen. In the below video, Furry Potato is seen hanging out around an LA synagogue. A security guard comes out of the building and tries to tell the streamer to leave but he continues to provoke the security guard.

Eventually, things escalate to the point that the security guard pulls out a gun and tries to get the streamer to step back. He does, but only briefly, at which point the guard fires his weapon into the ground.

The streamer suggests that he has been shot and while it’s unclear what exactly happened, it appears as though the ricochet did strike him in the leg. He eventually backs off the synagogue and the two exchange some more words. Passersby tell the security guard to put down the gun, but he seems focused on making sure the streamer leaves.

A short while after the cops arrive to assess the situation at which point the streamer puts down his camera to give his story. After that, police tape goes up and eventually the footage is cut.

Follow up details of the event show and explain that the streamer does have a wound on his leg and that the security guard was arrested. Presumably more details will follow once an official police report has been filed but no doubt the security will face some serious punishments. For the streamer, hopefully, this is a lesson to pursue new content.

While this isn’t the first time that a crime has been shown on a livestream – swatting is a fairly common practice, unfortunately – it might be the most harrowing. Regardless of how you might feel about what the streamer was doing, the response was certainly extreme.
