Stranger Things season 4 has been a long time coming, with season 3 ending in 2019 and still no release in sight for the fourth. That said, there is still work being done behind the scenes and according to one of the show's stars, fans will be in for quite the time when the next installment finally does arrive on Netflix.

The actor who plays Dustin, Gaten Matarazzo, recently took an interview with Us Weekly where he claimed that the next season of the show would be the scariest yet, a sentiment that has been echoed by other cast members of the Netflix series. Matarazzo claimed that most people would likely feel the same way and that it had been quite fun filming the project as a result.

Minor spoilers from here on: at the end of season 3 the fate of Chief Hopper was left uncertain, but it has recently been confirmed that David Harbour is indeed returning to play the character again in season 4. While Matarazzo says that most of the cast had a pretty good idea that he'd return, it was still nice to see him at the first table read, all the same, confirming that he would indeed have a part to play in the fourth season.

Harbour has also stated that Stranger Things season 4 will bring a big revelation about Hopper's backstory and that it was going to be a lot scarier than the previous seasons. Natalia Dyer, who plays Nancy, has also claimed that the 4th season will be the biggest yet, whipping up lots of anticipation for what may finally happen when details about the plot are finally revealed.

Regardless of what exactly is going to occur, the cast seems to be in agreement that season 4 of Stranger Things is going to be quite the event. Whether that comes in the form of bigger moments, scarier scenes, heightened tensions, or all of the above remains to be seen, but fans of the show clearly ought to be excited for what is being teased.

Hopefully, the fourth season, whenever it can start moving to release, lives up to the previous ones, and the reputation of Stranger Things as a whole. Clearly, Netflix is continuing to invest heavily in this particular franchise and fans can only hope that the investment pays off big when the next installment finally hits the streaming platform.
