Apart from a handful of teaser trailers and some vague updates from the cast, not much is known about the upcoming season of Netflix's Stranger Things. The sci-fi series, which remains to be one of the most popular titles on the streaming service, has faced a slew of unforeseen filming and production setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and fans are starting to get restless. In an effort to curb their impatience, many of them have engaged themselves in a meticulous search for clues that could reveal something important about the show's fourth season.

It looks like their hard work may have paid off, as recent reports indicate that they may have uncovered a noteworthy piece of information during their search. In the latest Stranger Things teaser trailer that was released last fall, there was a possible clue in one scene that eagle-eyed viewers noticed. While a Surfer Boy Pizza van slid off the road, for a split second, the company's phone number was shown as '805-45-PIZZA.'

Fans tried to dial the number themselves and the call actually connected. On Reddit, some people reported hearing a "Happy Birthday" jingle, and one user surmised that it could be connected to an episode from the third season titled "The Birthday." However, it's hard to say whether there's anything in that episode that actually hints at the next season's release date.

Perhaps the more plausible theory is that the tune is related to the show's anniversary. If that is the case, that would mean that the fourth season could be released on July 15, the series premiere date. What makes this suggestion even more convincing is the fact that July 15 lands on a Friday this year, and Netflix has a history of premiering big releases on Fridays.

Some cast members, including Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo, have spoken out about the upcoming season, claiming it to be the show's darkest and most terrifying one yet. As of now, it's unclear how the story will proceed from where it left off; but if the teaser trailers give any indication, fans could expect another epic adventure for the Hawkins kids. Snippets of other laboratory-raised kids and Jim Hopper alive in Russia could center the entire season on Eleven as she tries to reunite with her long-lost "siblings" and adoptive father.

Stranger Things is currently streaming Seasons 1 to 3 on Netflix and it is rumored to drop Season 4 sometime this year.
