Season 4 of Stranger Things might be the most bingeable of the entire Netflix series. Everything is on point, from new monster Vecna to the changes in the main characters' lives to the way that they all come together to fight the evil in Hawkins, Indiana. There are some new characters who fans have gotten to know during these first seven episodes, and

Grace Van Dien does an amazing job playing Chrissy Cunningham, a cheerleader who sadly loses her life to Vecna. Chrissy's death scene is incredibly shocking and also visually stunning. It's definitely not something that fans will forget.

While there's so much to focus on in season 4, from Jim Hopper's (David Harbour) rescue to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike Wheeler's (Finn Wolfhard) dramatic relationship, Chrissy deserves a lot of credit for being an awesome character.

There are some new characters in season 4 of Stranger Things, and while Eddie Munson doesn't get much screen time, Chrissy Cunningham is one of the most important people at the beginning of the season. Fans learn that Chrissy is having a tough time and that she has been talking to the counselor at school. She has been getting terrible headaches and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) has an unnerving moment in the girls' bathroom at school when she hears Chrissy getting sick. Chrissy has a terrible vision, and it soon becomes clear that Vecna is going to murder her soon.

Grace Van Dien as Chrissy Cunningham in Stranger Things

Chrissy is an underrated character because her story arc explains exactly how Vecna targets victims and gets into their psyches and torments them, even before killing them. While many big things happen in season 4 volume 1 of Stranger Things and the season moves along at a fast pace, Chrissy should definitely be praised as a well-drawn character who has a meaningful place on the show. Watching Chrissy go through this process is horrifying and heartbreaking in equal parts. It also shows fans that Max is also being targeted, something that is just as terrifying to imagine, and Chrissy's storyline makes fans wonder who else Vecna will get over the next season or so.

Chrissy is also just a great, solid teen show character. At the start of season 4, the friend group is upset over Lucas Sinclair's (Caleb McLaughlin) love of being on the basketball team and his desire to be popular. Chrissy is the head cheerleader and it would seem like she, therefore, naturally loves having all eyes on her at all times. But Chrissy's struggles prove that she feels strange in this role and that she doesn't care about being liked.

Chrissy's scene with Eddie is also really moving. While she originally contacts him to buy drugs, the two bond a little bit, and had she lived, it seems like they could be friends or more. This moment shows fans that Chrissy isn't conceited or selfish at all and that she likes Eddie, who is a rebel who her friends and peers don't think is cool.

Chrissy is one of the best Stranger Things season 4 characters and reminds fans a bit of Nancy Wheeler's storyline back in season 1. When Nancy is first introduced to fans, she's in a relationship with Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and struggling with her popularity and place at her high school. Nancy is much nicer than the rest of the crowd and her best friend Barb Holland (Shannon Purser) feels left out. Nancy is torn between her feelings for Joe and desire to be liked along with her friendship with Barb, who doesn't fit in. Chrissy seems a lot like Nancy: an incredibly kind and thoughtful person who cares about the people around her.

Vecna is a Dungeons & Dragons character and since Chrissy is so unfamiliar with him, and so freaked out by what's happening to her, the audience learns a lot through her brief but meaningful storyline. Chrissy is totally afraid, which is a big deal since Vecna can definitely tell when his victims are particularly fearful, and Chrissy is also a bit more naive than the other characters.

Chrissy's brief time on the show matters a lot, and although it would have been fun to see her hang out more with Eddie and get to know the younger characters as well, she shows fans that no one is safe in Hawkins and evil can come for anyone. By this point, fans have seen the scary Stranger Things creatures kidnap Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), kill Barb, and end Chrissy's life. There's no telling what else Vecna will do in the last two episodes of season 4, and Chrissy proves that Stranger Things will always impress fans with well-written characters and shocking deaths.
