Although it is pretty difficult, the main campaign for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin actually doesn't take a ton of time to complete. After players finish their first playthrough, those who enjoyed the experience may wish to keep going and power through the game on CHAOS difficulty to further test their skills. Taking on that daunting task will definitely put their skills to the test, but there are also some exciting and powerful rewards.

First of all, playing Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on CHAOS difficulty is going to allow players to start pushing beyond the max levels available during the base game. While playing on CHAOS, Jack and his party can increase the max mission level, equipment level, and Job level. Since Job talent trees max out after level 30, a new feature is added in CHAOS mode that allows players to still get some gameplay reward for each level gained in a particular Job beyond 30. That's where Master Points come into play.

Master Points are a feature that players don't need to worry about during their first playthrough, but become a main motivator during the CHAOS grind. These special points allow players to improve Jack's stats to further customize the hero to their own play style. When used wisely, they can make a major improvement to just about any Job pairing build.

What are Master Points?

When a Job reaches level 30, all of the nodes on its talent tree should be unlocked and filled in. As players level up Jobs from 31 to 99 during a CHAOS playthrough, that means they need a new reward for each of those levels. Master Points are awarded for each level up after 30 and can be spent to increase a stat. Stats include HP, Break, Strength, Stamina, Luck, and a long list of others.

How To Use Master Points?

To use Master Points, players simply need to visit the Job Tree Menu. Once players have earned Master Points, they will then be able to see their full list of stats here, along with the number of unspent points, and start allocating them to the stats that they would like to improve. Keep in mind that some stats will be more beneficial for particular builds than others. Respecs are an option as well, so don't feel too nervous about experimenting and spending Master Points to try out different, unique build types and Job pairings.

The average player may place SOPFFO back on the shelf to gather dust after rolling credits once and never get the chance to explore the Master Points system, but it is a pretty great grind motivator for the hardcore fans who want to drop a lot of extra hours into the game. Continuing to increase the difficulty and power through CHAOS level for 300 level gear will definitely require some very smart builds and challenges players to use their Master Points wisely. The grind could certainly help players burn away some time as they wait for Final Fantasy 16 to arrive.
