Stranger of Paradise's most recent gameplay showcase, titled "The Basics of Battle," re-introduces the game's main characters and details combat. Players will be able to throw off enemies by using Command Abilities to knock enemies back, and depleting an enemy's Break Gauge will allow the player to go in for a kill. The Soul Shield also works to defend against enemy attacks while giving players the ability to steal an enemy's spells and use them.

The trailer also gives a detailed list of the many jobs players will be able to earn throughout Stranger of Paradise, starting with the Swordsman class and gaining others like Lancer, Pugilist, and more. Players will also be able to customize a specific job's combo attacks, switch between jobs on the fly mid-combat, and even team up with friends and other players online even if the players are at different points in the game.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will look to provide a different take on one of the all-time classic RPG franchises, bringing a much darker tone and real-time combat to the story of the original Final Fantasy. The style and appearance of the game have many fans comparing Stranger of Paradise to Souls-like games while the gameplay shows off a deep skill and job system that gives players the ability to customize their characters to their own playstyle. Stranger of Paradise looks to bring a fresh new experience to a timeless classic with Team Ninja's action game expertise at the helm.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin will release on March 18 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
