Experimenting with and leveling up Jobs is perhaps the most exciting and addicting mechanic in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Players are highly encouraged to mix and match and find the right early, mid, and endgame Job combinations that align with their preferred play style. Customizing Jack's Job isn't the only way to optimize the party though.

Jack may be the leader in Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, but he is just one piece of the larger party. As the game progresses, players may find themselves wanting to adjust the jobs assigned to Neon and the other party members. Not to worry, that is possible (though not until a few hours into the game's story).

Players who are clicking around the Battle Settings menu early on and failing to find a way to change party member Jobs aren't missing the right spot to do this - it's just not available yet. That said, it doesn't take very long at all to get to a point where this feature becomes available. Once players have managed to defeat the Black Knight, it won't be long at all before ally Job switching becomes available.

How To Change Party Member Jobs in Stranger of Paradise

Unlocking the ability to change party member Jobs luckily just involves progressing through the game's main story through about two or three full missions. After the Audience with the Dark Elf mission each of the three allies will gain their first additional class.

More Jobs come later at important milestones as memories unlock through the game's narrative. To switch ally jobs, just head to the Battle Settings menu again, press R2 to swap between characters (the same way you would if you were changing their equipment) and then select their Job to see other options.

Some players may be a bit disappointed to find that each ally doesn't have full access to the massive list of Jobs that Jack does. Instead, they basically get to advance through the Job progression and gain the related advanced versions of their starting Jobs. This is a bit limiting in terms of party composition planning, but Jack does carry the majority of the load in terms of fight strategy anyway.

Players can always return to the mission labeled ??? if they want to experiment with different Job options for themselves and their party members in a low stakes battle with some training time.
