Several YouTubers and actors have been sent some strange Death Stranding cases as part of the game's release. The Hideo Kojima game is all about clues and Death Stranding trailers challenged players to put things together to find out more about the game, its story, and protagonist Sam.
Four YouTubers and actors, gaming YouTuber Jacksepticeye, comedian Ron Runches, voice actor Alanah Pearce, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 actor Janina Gavankar have also posted on Instagram sharing images and videos of the Death Stranding packages that they've been sent by PlayStation. The packages have locks on them and came with messages such as "Amelie wears the answer". It seems that the four YouTubers and actors won't be able to open their cases without working together or looking at all of the information. Death Stranding is about delivering packages and getting people talking to each other which is what this has done.

Okay, so, PlayStation/Kojima Productions sent me this giant case that looks just like the ones in #DeathStranding... but it’s locked, and I have no idea how to open it (or what’s inside!?!?). It came with a clue, and it sounds like I have to work with @jacksepticeye @janina & @ronfunch to figure out how to open mine, and theirs? THIS IS NUTS. Follow along on our stories and help us out! #PlayStationPartner

I can’t believe this case from @PlayStation for the #DeathStranding launch. In classic @hideo_kojima fashion, there’s a layered puzzle just to open the box. We have a team assembled but I’m still going to need your help in solving the clues. Check out our stories to see how we’re doing @jacksepticeye @charalanahzard @ronfunch #playstationpartner
Fans of the YouTubers and actors are trying to put everything together, but all of the answers haven't been revealed. Jacksepticeye's clue, which had several anagrams on it, was one of the first clues to have been solved. Death Stranding fans used the words to turn the numbers into "Help us connect" but fans aren't sure where to go from there. Other clues, such as Ron Funches' clue seem to send players to one of the many Death Stranding trailers, and Alanah Pearce's clue seems to be about the Morse code on necklace worn by Amelie.
The Instagram posts have been up for about a day, and they haven't been solved. However, Janina Gavankar, who also leaked Horizon Zero Dawn 2, has said that she's taken the posts from the Reddit thread to the Instagram direct messages group with the others who received a package. It's unclear if this has helped the four of them open the boxes and they are just waiting to share the news, or if they're stuck on it and are waiting for more help from fans.
Death Stranding fans are also talking about what could possibly be in the packages. One popular suggestion is that the four of them are being given their own B.B. pod. The B.B. or Bridge Baby, is a big part of the game and the Death Stranding limited edition PS4 Pro came with a B.B. pod controller. Kojima also has a B.B. pod so that would pull all five people together. Fans will have to wait for the cases to be opened for confirmation.
Death Stranding releases on November 8th, 2019, for PS4, and is set to release for PC in Summer 2020.
