With the spread of the coronavirus seeing millions stuck in their homes, it seems the gaming community is flourishing more than ever as players turn to video games to alleviate their boredom. However, over a month in, many are no doubt looking for new games to turn their attention to while they wait for the outbreak to subside. Luckily, it seems PlayStation players may have just found that next big game, with an incredibly popular PC survival title soon making the jump to the console.

That game is none other than Stranded Deep, Beam Team's early-access survival sim that pits players against violent wildlife and the elements as they attempt to endure on a desert island. It was a major success on PC, seeing thousands of players jump online to brave the elements while also garnering a cult following through social media and streaming sites. Luckily, it seems the game will finally come to consoles, meaning a whole new community of players can get stuck into the popular survival experience.

Discussing the game on the PlayStation blog, Beam Team's co-founder, Sam Edwards, states: "we’re very excited to announce Stranded Deep is coming to PS4 for the first time tomorrow. As a player, you take on the role of a plane crash survivor stranded in the Pacific Ocean.  You’ll explore exotic underwater and island environments as you hunt for supplies to craft the tools, weapons, and shelter you’ll need to stay alive."

Continuing his description of the game, he writes "You’ll experience crazy encounters against sharks, giant squid and other sea creatures. Defend against attacks on land from wild boar, snakes and other native threats. Hunger, thirst, and exposure will work against you as you brave the elements. It shouldn’t and won’t be easy… but if you survive through it all, you can escape! This is something players haven’t been able to do before, so be the first!" Evidently, the game will be the most up to date version of the title released yet, with players having the opportunity to escape the island for the first time.

The game will be available on PlayStation 4 tomorrow, April 21, and looks to be a great addition to the console's library of superb survival titles. With the game currently netting incredibly positive reviews on the Steam storefront, it will no doubt be a fantastic new experience to jump into for those currently looking for something new to play to kill the time.

Stranded Deep is available now on PC and will make its way to PlayStation 4 on April 21.
