Last October, Nintendo announced Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, set to release next month in Japan, and March 2021 for the rest of the world. Now, ever since the game's announcement, Marvelous has been hyping up Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town by releasing more information about its gameplay, characters, and most notably, its list of bachelors and bachelorettes.
Ever since the first Harvest Moon game, up until the franchise rebranded itself as Story of Seasons, romance has always been a huge part of the series. In the latest update for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, it has been revealed that the game will be receiving several post-launch updates, alongside the return of 2 bachelors and 2 bachelorettes from previous games. Although the studio did not provide any hints as to who will return in Pioneers of Olive Town, here are our predictions based on the most popular bachelors and bachelorettes from the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons franchise.
Gray
Gray is one of the most popular bachelors in the entire franchise, especially among the games that took place in Mineral Town. Gray first appeared in Harvest Moon 64, the fourth game in the franchise, and his latest appearance was in the 2019 remake Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. To the uninitiated, Gray is a young man from the city who moved into Mineral Town to work as an apprentice under his grandfather, the blacksmith. Throughout the game, players will learn that Gray is struggling to please his grandfather, given his high standards.
Elli/Elly
Another character from the Mineral Town saga of Harvest Moon games is Elli, who first appeared in Harvest Moon 64. During the first few games in the franchise, Elli ran the local bakery while caring for her grandmother. However, in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, Elli's career changed from a baker to a nurse, and she is seen working with the doctor at Mineral Town's clinic. In the 2019 remake of Friends of Mineral Town, Elli's name was changed to Elly, a closer translation of her Japanese name. Ever since her first introduction, Elly became a popular bachelorette among fans, given her kind and sweet nature and hard work ethic, making her the perfect role model for young girls.
Fritz
Another bachelor that is likely to return in Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is Fritz, who first appeared in the first game in the franchise that carried the Story of Seasons brand. Given his typical boy next door vibe, Fritz became popular among fans of the game. Although Fritz can be irritating at times, he is generally kind to the player and other villagers.
Agate
Similar to Fritz, Agate was first introduced in the first Story of Seasons games. Agate works as a ranger of the Safari Park, and she is fond of animals. Additionally, Agate is also very knowledgeable of animals and nature, making her a valuable resource in running a farm. Generally, Agate is calm and friendly, making her one of the most popular villagers in town.
Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is set to release on March 23, 2021, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
