Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is the latest entry into the Story of Season series. Pioneers of Olive Town’s release date was revealed back in October, coming to the Switch next year in North America on March 23, 2021.

Now, players are getting a better look at what the game has in store for players look to build up a farming town from scratch. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town just got a brand new gameplay trailer showcasing aspects of the game like farming, fishing, and romance.

The gameplay trailer comes by way of XSEED Games’ official YouTube channel, featuring two minutes of full gameplay. The trailer opens with the player character riding into town on a moped, then slowly getting acquainted with the early, dilapidated feeling of the farmstead they’ll be rebuilding. The trailer highlights how players will have to reclaim the farmstead from the wilderness that has encroached upon it in the years it has been left abandoned. The build shown in the gameplay looks very polished, which lines up with the recent announcement that Pioneers of Olive Town is approaching completion.

The trailer also shows various aspects that are key to the Story of Seasons experience, such as farming, expanding the farmstead, and harvesting vegetables. The trailer highlights aspects of the gameplay like taming wild livestock and adding them to the farm, along with photographing wildlife to donate to the local museum. Finally, the trailer caps off by showing some of the various NPCs that players will meet in Olive Town and maybe even romance eventually. Those looking forward to Story of Seasons: Pioneers Of Olive Town can choose between the standard retail edition or the premium edition ahead of the game’s March 23 release date.
