To find the Fishing Rod in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town fans must simply speak with Zack at his house on Mineral Beach between the hours of 11am and 4pm. For full clarity, Zack is the character that will offer to buy items from the box located near a player's farm, and indeed he has a Fishing Rod that he is happy to pass along free of charge.
Once a player has the Fishing Rod in Friends of Mineral Town they can then equip it and press the Tool Button to cast a line into any body of water. Then all a fan must do is wait until they see the bobber "move violently" and then press the Tool Button again to reel in the fish. For those players that have recently been fishing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons this is sure to feel quite intuitive, and it should be easy enough for others to pick it up fairly quickly.
