The newest expansions for Stellaris: Console Edition has an official release date. Paradox has announced that both Humanoids and Apocalypse will come out on June 25 for Xbox and PS4.

This is huge news for the game's console players, as the Synthetic Dawn Story Pack launched for console last month. After the story pack, these two upcoming expansions will complete Expansion Pass Two for the Console Edition of Stellaris. Paradox calls Apocalypse one of its "biggest ever expansions" that will revolutionize in-game warfare with a planet-killing weapon, space pirates called Marauders, capital ships, and defensive orbital installations. Also included in Apocalypse is the new ability for players to start on Gaia and Tomb worlds.

Humanoids is a species pack for humanoid cosmetic changes, including portraits, hairstyles, music, and ships. Humanoids are the most-used phenotype in Stellaris, so this pack will help a lot of players change up their gameplay. This and the new ability to start on Gaia and Tomb worlds will help players create richer backstories for their games, similar to the Federations expansion that released in March on Steam.

Paradox's 4X grand strategy game (set in space) has been acclaimed for having an easier learning curve and immersive tutorial for new players than previous Paradox strategy games, as well lots of gameplay variety that makes every playthrough different. All of Paradox's games are designed to make players think and to help them create deep backstories and roleplay, and both Apocalypse and Humanoids are geared toward this goal.

Stellaris is available to play now on Linux, macOS, PS4, Windows, and Xbox One.
